About Us
Here you will find: History, Four Generations, and information about our Present Day Gordons.
Our History:
Isidor Seitz -- Early 1950's
"Shiloh" Past:
“Shiloh” was originated by my grandfather, Isidor Seitz in 1949, when he bought his first Gordon setter from the “Windy Hill” kennel. This first Gordon was Windy Hill’s Marco Polo(Fasts Falcon of Windy Hill x Babs of Windy Hill). He bred his first litter in 1950. His dogs were used mostly for hunting and hunting competition but he did do some conformation showing.
Jake Poisker of Windy Hill used several “Shiloh” dogs in his breeding program. In 1958, Best of Breed at the Westminster Kennel Club was Ch. Windy Hill’s Satan(Ch. Windy Hill’s Ablaze of Gunbar x Seitz’s Bonnie Devil of Shiloh). That year Satan also won two GSCA Specialties,14 Best of Breeds, 8 group placements including a first, and he was never defeated in the breed. Through Ch. Windy Hill’s Satan the “Shiloh” name appears in the pedigree of many Gordon setters today although you may have to look back 10 or more generations.
In 1962 Best of Opposite at the Combined Setter Specialty and Westminster was Ch. Windy Hill’s Shiloh Gypsy(Butch’s Chris of Shiloh x Stylish Black Lady). She was from the only litter bred by my parents Lester & Lorene Stump.
In the late 1950’s my grandfather died and my parents started a family of their own so the gordons disappeared from our life until 1993 when my dreams came true; and, my husband and I got our first Gordon, McRoths Shiloh Rockin Robin. Unfortunately Robin developed bone cancer and died shortly after he turned 2 years old. We didn’t have him nearly long enough but it was long enough to be hooked on Gordons.

Today:
Today, Shiloh Gordon Setters has a small breeding program. We bred our first litter in 1999 and have bred a total of six litters on our own and co-bred one other litter. We put emphasis on healthy Gordon Setters with good temperaments. We breed for an all around dog that has the hunting instinct they were originally bred for, as well as ability to compete in performance events and do well in the conformation ring. Shiloh Gordon Setters have earned titles in Conformation, AKC Hunt Tests, Obedience, Rally Obedience, Scent work, Agility, trick and Barn Hunt. Most of the puppies from our litters go to pet homes, where their main job is to be loving companions. The puppies that stay with us live in our home as part of our family.
